Making Connections
One-day Workshop
Time: 10am - 4pm
Location: Farley, near Salisbury, Wiltshire.
Think several types of rivets, micro nuts & bolts, tabs & prongs, links, split-pins, stitching and more. Learn a myriad of mechanical methods to connect less conventional materials together without the use of heat. This is a great one-day workshop which can help to progress your work in anodised aluminium.
You will learn a whole host of connection methods whilst examining samples and images, watching demonstrations, and undertaking practical exercises. This workshop aims to inspire and get you thinking about less conventional ways to join materials that cannot be exposed to heat. You are invited to bring along your own materials (wood, plastics, fabric, coloured aluminium, paper, etc) and we will look at joining using decorative or in-conspicuous fixings to suit differing needs.
By the end of the workshop you will leave with detailed notes, a list of recommended suppliers, a good set of samples (a finished piece if desired) and the confidence to make more connections.
Farley is located approx 15 minutes from Salisbury City Centre. Please get in touch if you require any suggestions for accommodation or will require transport from the train station.
